Pray for All People: Day 30

Last month, I listed to an episode of The Daily that told the story of a refugee camp in Greece. They described squalid conditions that were made worse by the pandemic and a fire that was started. When a reporter interviewed some of the people living there, one girl remarked that she had come to Europe for a better life, but she had been better off if she had remained in Afghanistan. That brave, young girl has remained on my mind for weeks. My heart breaks for her and so many others who find themselves in such desperate circumstances.

As I have been praying about and researching God’s priorities, I have noticed that he often speaks of the widow, the orphan, and the sojourner in the Old Testament. Here’s just one example:

For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.” Deuteronomy 10:17-19 (ESV)

God loves the poor, the displaced, the oppressed. He loves refugees.

Today I am praying for:

  • Refugees and displaced people
  • Revival to break out in refugee camps
  • Provision, protection, and blessing for those who have been displaced
  • Strategic solutions for this global humanitarian crisis

What is God saying to you?
